EVRO AUTHORS AT RACE RETRO

After the disappointment of Race Retro’s cancellation last year due to flooding at Stoneleigh Park, this year’s event is back with a bang. Among Evro authors present, three will be returning for the stage interviews and book signings that were booked for last year!
Jeremy Walton will talk about his book Fast Fords: 50 years up close and personal with Ford’s finest in which he recounts his amazing range of experiences in the Blue Oval’s hottest machinery on both road and track. This very personal book is crammed full of great stories and lots of information. Retro Speed’s review concluded with this comment: “Jeremy Walton’s words flow with a blend of authority, knowledge and humour. So entertained was yours truly, I read the complete book in one sitting.”
Ian Flux, one of motorsport’s most colourful and best-loved characters, will talk about a life lived to the full, racing in many branches of the sport from single-seaters to touring cars, endurance racers to classics. Writing in GrandPrix+, David Tremayne said of For Flux Sake: Beer, fags and opposite-lock, “This is one of those driver biographies that really ought to have a health warning... you are going to laugh. A lot.”
Damien Smith will discuss his acclaimed first book, Benetton: Rebels of Formula 1, which tells the wonderful story of F1’s unconventional, flamboyant, ground-breaking, controversial team that took Michael Schumacher to his first two world titles. Motor Sport’s verdict: “This weighty book about Benetton’s rise and fall in F1 is as vibrant as the team’s racing liveries.”
