Peter Higham

Peter Higham is a freelance writer and event director. The World Encyclopaedia of Racing Drivers is his fourth and most ambitious book so far.

A motor racing enthusiast since watching Jackie Stewart and Ronnie Peterson dispute the lead of the 1973 International Trophy at Silverstone, Higham has worked in the sport’s media for most of his adult life.

He joined Autosport’s advertising department in 1986 and worked for the title for the next five years. A brief sojourn away from motor racing followed as he worked on the publishing teams that launched the leading monthly football magazine FourFourTwo and the less successful music title Encore.

A return to the motor racing division in 1996 included working as Publishing Director of both Autosport and F1 Racing, as well as being the creative driving force behind the annual Autosport Awards and running the company’s renowned photographic archives – LAT – for over 15 years.

His previous books, written in his spare time, include the award-winning International Motor Racing Guide, published in 2002. In 2014 Higham turned freelance in order to pursue a writing career while continuing to run the Autosport Awards.
