Gary Watkins

Gary Watkins was present for the inaugural round of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Silverstone in May 2006. In the 20 years since, he has reported on hundreds of races around the world in which GT3 machinery has been on the grid. That includes 18 editions of the Spa 24 Hours since the category was first represented in the Belgian enduro. He is most associated with Autosport magazine, formerly as part of the staff during which time he edited the ‘Pit & Paddock’ news section and, latterly, as a freelancer. Gary also writes for Motor Sport, Racer, RaceTech, Autocourse and more. He lives in Surbiton, not far from the former Hollyfield Road Cooper Formula 1 workshop famous for its avant-garde curved frontage.
