FORMULA 3000 SYMPOSIUM AT BROOKLANDS INCLUDES MARTIN DONNELLY AND DAVID SEARS
Step back into the golden era of Formula 3000 with a special evening at the iconic Brooklands Clubhouse on Thursday 18 June 2026 at 7.30pm.
Join James Newbold, author of our book Formula 3000: Where legends earned their stripes, alongside guest drivers, engineers and team figures as they share stories from the series that launched a generation of Formula One stars. Discover the drama, rivalries and behind-the-scenes moments from one of racing’s most exciting proving grounds.
The four panellists will be Martin Donnelly (three-time Formula 3000 race winner in 1988–89 with Jordan Racing), Björn Wirdheim (2003 Formula 3000 Champion driving for Christian Horner’s Arden International team), Paul Crosby (engineer to Martin Donnelly, Jean Alesi, Allan McNish, Gil de Ferran and briefly a team boss), and multiple title-winning team boss and driver manager David Sears (who also wrote the foreword to James’s book). They are seen in the accompanying photos: Martin Donnelly (above) is pictured after winning at Brands Hatch in 1989, Paul Crosby (below, upper) with Jean Alesi in 1989, David Sears with Juan Pablo Montoya in 1998 (below, middle), and Björn Wirdheim in 2002 (below, bottom).
After the event, James will be signing copies of his book, which will be available to purchase on the night.
Tickets cost £18 for members and £25 for non-members; the cost for a livestream of the event is £5. For more details and bookings, visit: https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/membership/members-events/formula-3000-symposium/
